We cross Goods Way and then the Regent’s Canal via King’s Bridge. We are now in the original goods yard on the north bank of the canal and facing the Granary.

We can admire the front of Lewis Cubitt’s Granary of 1852 with the transit sheds at either side that were added progressively 10-20 years later to provide offices.

Bearing left, we round the steps leading down to the canal which provide a popular outdoor seating area for enjoying snacks or soaking up the sun.

This takes us to the Coal Office along Bagley Walk, which was formerly Wharf Road, and continues alongside the canal over the arches of the former stables, with raised beds and planters on both sides. It is also known as the ‘Fish and Coal Office’, but Coal Office is the more appropriate and historic name associated with the coal movements through what is now Coal Drops Yard. Part of the Coal Office is now a middle-eastern restaurant.
